The 2025 Pastoral Service Appeal has begun. Contributions to the Pastoral Services Appeal, or PSA, are used by the Diocese of Orange to support various programs and ministries that further the mission of our Catholic faith: helping others find a path toward Jesus Christ. These ministries and services include Catholic Education, Catholic Charities of Orange County, Seminarian Formation, Vocations, The Permanent Diaconate, Priest Retirement and so much more. In fact, for every dollar given, 95 cents goes directly to fund the vital initiative in our local church. Only 5% of your contribution is used for administrative, communications and/or fundraising costs.
This year’s goal is $150,000. All funds exceeding our goal are returned to the parish through parish rebates that directly support our parish.

I also want to thank everyone who participated in the appeal this past year. Please prayerfully consider your ability to participate in this year’s appeal. When you’re ready, please use the envelope you received in the mail or in the pew for your gift or pledge. You may either mail it directly to the processing center, drop it off at the parish or place it in the Sunday collection basket.

Our roof repair and solar installation have been scheduled for later this year. Our past PSA rebates are being used to complete these projects. Currently, we are making some great improvements to our security and access to our buildings. Security cameras, access-controlled doors and security fencing are currently being installed. Thanks to the hard work of Mr. Ciccoianni, our school principal, in helping to secure a $200,000 security grant, we were able to complete the first phase of the project. Our rebates this year will be directed to completing the access control installation as soon as possible. The completion of this project will greatly improve the use of all our buildings campus-wide and provide greater safety and security.
Access control systems help mitigate potential security risks by providing an added layer of protection for our community. Securing the doors and gates on parish grounds ensures that only authorized individuals have access to our parish facilities, which helps prevent damage, theft or vandalism from occurring. It enables us to ensure that the proper individuals have access to the parish facilities, and it allows us to monitor these individuals more closely should problems arise. Access control also provides us a record of who entered which parts of the facility and when they did so. Additionally, the flexibility of Access control allows us to provide groups or individuals access to meeting rooms or other areas on campus on specific days and times, and it eliminates the security risk presented by the duplication of keys or by lost and stolen keys. It eliminates the need for groups who are meeting to come during office hours to pick up the key to a meeting room. Finally, access control eventually will save our site money because it minimizes the need for costly key duplication, as well as prevents repair costs from unauthorized entrance, damage and theft.
St. Norbert Catholic Church and School have been blessed by God with safety throughout its history. However, taking an active posture for the future when it comes to securing our site (as with our recent installation of security cameras, the extension of security gates and the completion of the access control project) protects our physical plant and our resources. This enables us to utilize the gifts provided by the generosity of our community to advance the mission of our parish, serving those in need through our prayer, love and service.
Thank you for your support and participation in this year’s appeal.
